Sikles trek
Sikles trek is an adventurous and exciting journey. You’ll be passing through the lush forest of rhododendrons, beautiful mountain range and landscapes. Sikles trek is one of the interesting trekking destinations in the Annapurna region. If you want to enjoy the peaceful experience of nature within your trek, then this trek is for you. Sikles is a small village that lies within the Kaski district. It is the earliest and biggest ‘Gurung’ settlement. Sikles village is a well-preserved village located on a small hill at the height of 3,000 meters. We’ll be exploring different places such as Huwu (Hugu) village and Khapuche Lake. After crossing the elevation of 2,000 meters, you’ll be seeing Annapurna and Lamjung Himal up close. You’ll come to know about the culture, lifestyle, tradition and handicraft production of this area.
Sikles trek has gained lots of popularity these days. On the first day you arrive here at Kathmandu and you’ll be driving towards Pokhara. On the next day of the arrival, you’ll be driving to Sikles village from Pokhara. Then you’ll start your trek from Sikles to Huwu village. The trek will be of 3 days which passes through terraced fields, waterfalls, rhododendron forest, high alpine and the remote village beneath the giants Annapurna II (7937 m) and IV (7525 m).Sikles trekking is an opportunity to experience the interesting culture of the Gurung community.
Sikles Trek does not lie in much altitude so trekking can be done any time of the year. However, trekkers prefer to visit Sikles Village during the Spring and Autumn Season.
General Itinerary:
Day 1: Pokhara to Bhurjung Khola then trek to Ghale Kharka
Day 2: Ghale Kharka to Tara Hilltop
Day 3: Tara Hilltop to Sikles village
Day 4: Sikles village to Yanjgakot
Day 5: Yanjgakot to Kalikatstan
Day 6: Kalikastan to Begnas Lake and drive to Pokhara
