8:00 AM – Pick Up from Hotel

Your day begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza. Your guide will meet you and travel with you in an air-conditioned vehicle to the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Make sure to have your camera ready for some potential photo opportunities along the way.

8:30 AM – Arrival at the Grand Egyptian Museum

Duration: 15 minutes

Once you arrive, your guide will introduce you to the GEM, providing you with an overview of the museum’s structure and what to expect during your visit.

The GEM is massive, and you’ll want to make the most of your time inside. Your guide will lead you through the most important sections of the museum

8:45 AM – Begin Exploring the Museum's Highlights

Tutankhamun Gallery (1 hour)

The highlight of the museum is the Tutankhamun Exhibition, home to the iconic treasures of the Boy King.

Your guide will explain the fascinating discovery of Tut’s tomb by Howard Carter in 1922 and take you through the collection of over 5,000 artifacts, including his famous gold mask, chariot, statues, and jewelry.

There will be plenty of time for you to marvel at the intricate craftsmanship of these incredible items.

The Royal Mummy Hall (30 minutes)

After the Tutankhamun collection, you’ll visit the Royal Mummy Room, where you’ll see the mummies of famous pharaohs like Ramses II, Seti I, and others.

Your guide will give a detailed history of these rulers and the mummification process in ancient Egypt.

Ancient Egyptian Artifacts (1 hour)

Explore the museum’s other galleries, which house an extensive array of sculptures, pottery, jewelry, and daily-life objects from various dynasties.

You’ll see artifacts from Old Kingdom tombs, Middle Kingdom statues, and items from the New Kingdom, including more treasures from royal tombs.

Your guide will explain the significance of each era and how these objects give insight into ancient Egyptian society and religion.

Statues and Monuments (45 minutes)

The museum features several monumental statues of pharaohs, including massive statues of Ramses II, as well as works depicting gods and royal figures.

You’ll get to admire these colossal works of art and learn about their historical and religious significance.

2:45 PM – Final Exploration & Shopping at the Museum Gift Shop

Duration: 30 minutes

After lunch, you will have some free time to revisit any sections of the museum that interested you the most.

If you’re interested in souvenirs, the museum has an excellent gift shop with replicas, books, and Egyptian-themed items.

3:15 PM – Return to Hotel

Duration: 30 minutes

Your guide will accompany you back to your hotel, where you’ll be dropped off, typically by 3:30 PM or 4:00 PM
