This tour takes us deep into the northern plains of the country; cattle ranching, yuca, ñampi, malanga, and other products that we will see along the route, are witnesses to the diversity, richness, and economy of the area. We will pass through the Maleku Indigenous Territory, where our guide will provide information about this ethnic group established in the northern plains a few thousand years ago, their lifestyles, funeral practices, gastronomy, and more. Views of the Guanacaste Volcanic Range, Miravalles and Rincón de la Vieja volcanoes in the distance, learn about “living fences” and their importance in this cattle ranching area with high humidity. Once at the tour location, we can enjoy a cup of coffee or a lemonade with an "arepa" before boarding the boat and navigating rivers and their tributaries in search of as much wildlife as the area can provide; monkeys (up to three species), sloths, water birds, caimans, and even large crocodiles, learn about the importance of gallery forests, their importance for wildlife in general, such as filtration, sedimentation, and providing food for animals and birds. Upon returning to the starting point, a delicious traditional lunch and a natural refreshment will be waiting for you. If you want to practice making tortillas, this is your chance! ENJOY!
