In this tour, we will begin with a boat cruise on the Bosphorus Strait, which connects the Sea of Marmara to the Black Sea. During the cruise, we will view Ottoman palaces, two suspension bridges that connect Europe to Asia, beautiful Istanbul neighborhoods, a castle built in 1452, and luxurious waterfront mansions. We will also visit Dolmabahce Palace, take a stroll through several neighborhoods, and walk along the famous and lively, pedestrian-only Istiklal Street. Afterwards, we will visit the Spice Bazaar. As we will be using public transportation like trams and the subway during the tour, we will not require a private van.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:

*Bosphoros Boat Ride; the Bosphoros strait connects the Sea of Marmara to the Black Sea and separates Europe and Asia, making Istanbul one of the most beautiful cities in the world . The boat ride will last approximately 1.5 hours and will give us the opportunity to see other beautiful parts of Istanbul, outside of the Old Town.

*Dolmabahce Palace; it was the first European style palace built by the Ottomans between 1843-1856. This well-preserved palace has been serving as a museum and inside it’s possible to see the original furniture, paintings, candle sticks, hand made Turkish rugs, crystal chandeliers, musical instruments, personal items used by the royal family.

*Taksim Square and Istikla Street; Taksim Square is a bustling hub of activity and a major transportation center also known for its lively atmosphere, it often hosts public events, celebrations, and gatherings. Istiklal Street is one of Istanbul’s most famous streets, stretching about 1.4 kilometers. It is a pedestrian-only street, packed with shops, cafes, restaurants, art galleries, bookstores, cinemas and cultural venues. The avenue is rich in history, featuring 19th-century architecture and landmarks like churches, consulates, and historic buildings. This street is vibrant day and night, drawing locals and tourists alike for its lively atmosphere and entertainment options.We may have lunch here in a local restaurant.

*The neighborhood of Karakoy and Galata Bridge; walking across the Galata Bridge where many fishermen throw their lines out to catch little silver fish, horse mackerel, whiting etc. in quantity. Watch the fisherman casting their lines, take in the savory smells of so many restaurants located on the lower deck of the bridge wafting up and take amazing pictures of the city on the bridge.

*Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar); it was built in 1664 by the Ottomans and was the second oldest covered bazaar of the empire. It's the place where you can find traditional Turkish delights, various spices, dried fruits, nuts, herbs, teas, coffee and natural oils. Haggling is common, most vendors will let you taste or smell products, especially spices, tea, and nuts.

***PLEASE NOTE:

-Depending on the location of the hotel, I usually meet my guests at the hotel lobby at around 09.00-09.30 am.

- I only offer private tours. When I guide you, no one else will be added to the group.

-This tour excludes; Lunch, Entrance fees, Public transportation and public boat ride fees, Personal needs.

-Dolmabahce Palace is closed on Mondays.
