Language English, Spanish
Cost 60 USD for tour/excursion
Capacity Group of up to 10 people
Duration 5 hours

If you are looking for an unforgettable archaeological experience with fewer crowds and the best sunset in Petén, this is your tour! Yaxhá (meaning "Green Water" in Maya) was a key city on the trade route and is famous for its spectacular location on the shores of the Yaxhá Lagoon.

As your local guide, I will take you to explore this hidden gem. Unlike other sites, in Yaxhá, we can enjoy a tranquil atmosphere while walking its causeways, exploring the Plaza C Complex, and the famous Astronomical Complex. The city was key in the rivalry between Tikal and Calakmul, and I will share the fascinating stories of its kings.

The walk will immerse you in the jungle, where howler and spider monkeys are common. The grand finale will be ascending Structure 216 (the highest viewpoint) to witness a magical sunset over the jungle and the Yaxhá and Sacnab lagoons. It's a view you won't forget!

Perfect for nature lovers, photography enthusiasts, and archaeology in a serene setting!

Key Places to Visit:

Complex C: The administrative and ceremonial center with the main plaza.

West Acropolis: Residential and palatial complex.

Causeway of the Birds (Calzada de las Aves): The main path connecting the areas.

Structure 216: The main viewpoint for enjoying the famous sunset over the lagoon.
