1 Day - Sandakan Wildlife Encounter

Visit the 4 famous tourist attractions in Sandakan in a day.

They are:

1. Sepilok Orangutan Centre

2. Bornean Sunbear Conservation

Centre

3. Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey

    Sanctuary and

4. Rainforest Discovery Centre.

5. Any other place you want to go within Sandakan area.

0800 - Pick up from the airport/hotel.

We drive 24 km to Sepilok and visit the Orang Utan centre at Sepilok. Walk on the boardwalk to reach the Outdoor nursery. Here, the young orang utans are exposed to the forest setting and to play along themselves. We then proceed to the feeding station to see semi wild orang utans come to feed at 10am.

We then proceed to the Proboscis monkey sanctuary in time for the 11.30am feeding. Here, you will be able to observe the wild monkeys come close to feed at the feeding platforms near the shelter.  We then proceed to have lunch break.

After lunch , we drive to the Sun Bear conservation centre to observe the smallest bear in the world. The sun bears are taken from the many mini zoos around Sabah that used to keep them in  small cages. Here, they will live in the natural jungle setting for the remainder of their lives.

After sun bear, we proceed to visit the Rainforest Discovery Centre that boasts the longest canopy walk in Sabah at 620 meters long. The highest point is 28 meters above the ground. Here, we have more than 200 species of birds living in the surrounding forest.  On occasions, wild orang utans can be seen passing the area.

Late afternoon, transfer to the airport or hotel.
