The big Jewish community existed in Barcelona until 1391, when after a particularly cruel and violent attack, the Jews left the city and 100 years later all of Spain. But the names of the medieval streets of the Jewish quarter remind us of their old inhabitants, their traditional crafts and everyday habits. During a pleasant pedestrian walk through the Gothtic Quarter of Barcelona you will learn how the Sephardies (Spanish Jews) used to live here, see the modern life of the medieval Jewish quarter, and even be able to visit the synagogue, which is considered the oldest in Europe.
