Duration 10 hours

Over 60 years has passed since the Korean people experienced the tragedy of the Korean War. To this day, the Korean peninsula remains divided and the scars left by the war remain visible in many places.

The Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), a symbol of the ideological dispute between North and South Korea, winds 155 miles across the Korean Peninsula from the Han River to the East Coast. It ranges 2 km. north and south of the Military Demarcation Line, covering a vast region of 64 million sq. ft. Devoid of people, rare plants and animals exist in an unnatural nature preserve. Peace and tension coexist on a daily basis.

Korea's largest artist community, Heyri Art Village located near the DMZ is a great place to visit. Together, the DMZ and Heyri Art Village are the perfect places to experience Korea's modern predicament: peace with tension

You will learn about the Korean War at the War Memorial before you experience the DMZ.

Afterward, you will visit the peaceful Heyri Art Village after seeing the DMZ.
