ITINERARY OUTLIE
DAY 1: TIRANA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – SHKODER
As you touch down at Tirana International Airport, your Albanian adventure begins. A scenic drive of 1.5-2 hours will lead you to Shkodra, a city that beautifully encapsulates Albania's diverse cultural tapestry. Shkodra, characterized by its unique dialect and poetic charm, showcases the harmonious coexistence of the country's three main religions: Islam, Catholicism, and Orthodoxy.
The city boasts architectural wonders, including the Great Mosque (constructed in 1995) and the Catholic Cathedral, St. Stephen's Cathedral, where Pope John Paul II celebrated Mass during his memorable visit in 1993. The city center, infused with an Italian flair, features impressive architecture that adds to its allure.
Our exploration takes us to the ancient ruins of Rozafa Castle, a remarkable settlement dating back to the 4th century BC, perched on a rocky hill 133 meters high. From this vantage point, soak in breathtaking views of the lake and the city. As the day winds down, we'll gather for a delightful welcome dinner.

DAY 2 : JOURNEY TO VALBONA NP VIA KOMAN LAKE
Early start as we head to the ferry port for a boat ride to Koman dam (40 km/approximately 1½ hrs).
Cruise through a beautiful gorge to reach the fjord-like reservoir surrounded by steep cliffs
En Route to Valbona:
Upon arriving at Fierze, we switch to a minivan for the journey to Valbona.
A lunch break at a local restaurant adds energy to our adventure.
First Hike:
Begin a warm-up hike, following a clear stream and tranquil trails through the forest.
The hike concludes in the scenic Valbona National Park, where we have free time to explore alpine settlements until dinner.
Check into our accommodation and savor the alpine atmosphere.
Dinner is a treat, featuring delicious dishes crafted from local organic ingredients.

DAY 3: EXPLORING VALBONA VALLEY AND HIKING TO RAMA HUTS
Our adventure today unfolds in the picturesque Valbona valley and its enchanting surroundings. Following a hearty breakfast, our journey begins with a hike along a scenic trail leading to Kukaj, a remote hamlet nestled among the rugged landscapes where a few families reside. The trail unfolds amidst dramatic cliffs and rocky peaks, creating a captivating backdrop.
Continuing our exploration, we'll reach a modest shepherd hut at an elevation of 1670m, offering a perfect spot to pause, take in the surroundings, and relish a delightful picnic lunch. After our midday break, we'll descend back towards the valley, retracing our steps along the same captivating trail. Our night's accommodation and dinner will be hosted at the same welcoming guesthouse as the previous night.

DAY 4 - EPIC HIKE FROM VALBONA TO THETH TRHOUGH VALBONA PASS
Embarking on another exciting day, we kick off with a delicious breakfast before setting out on a scenic drive to the village of Rragam. Our journey unfolds with a captivating trek through the Valbona Pass (1811m), leading us to the remote village of Thethi. The Valbona Pass, standing at 1,966m, has been a historic link between the Valbona and Theth valleys for centuries.
To lighten our load, we enlist the help of mules to carry the heavier baggage, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the trek. Along the trail, we'll take refreshing breaks by cool springs, all while marveling at the majestic peaks of Jezerca and Radohima. The descent towards Thethi (800 m) follows, taking us approximately 6-7 hours to complete.
Thethi, with its charming wooden houses set against an idyllic backdrop, perfectly encapsulates the essence of Albanian alpine villages. Upon reaching Thethi, we'll check into a warm and welcoming guesthouse, where a traditional evening meal awaits.

DAY 5: THETH – HIKING TO PEJA PASS
Our day begins with a hearty breakfast, preparing us for an exhilarating hike towards Mount Arapi and onwards to the iconic Peja Pass. This stony notch, intricately carved into the northwest face of the Theth mountain, promises a thrilling adventure.
We'll set our course northward, following the trail along an ancient stream bed. The path gradually ascends, leading us into the heart of the Arapi mountain. As we ascend, the landscape transforms, presenting various spur paths. The key is to continue upward and north, heading towards the distinctive Peja Pass carved into the limestone cliff. The zig-zag ascent unveils breathtaking views of the village and valley below, with Maja Jezerce, the highest peak in the Dinaric Alps, standing proudly on our right.
After a 2-3 hour climb covering 7.5 km, we'll conquer the summit of the pass, offering an ideal spot for a well-deserved lunch break amid panoramic vistas. Our descent retraces the same trail, guiding us back to the village. The remainder of the day allows for leisure and rejuvenation until dinner.

DAY 6 : EXPLORE THETH AND WALK ALONG NDERLYSA TRAIL
As the sun graces us with a new day, our adventure continues with a delightful exploration of the picturesque village of Theth. After a fulfilling breakfast, we'll meander through verdant gardens, paying visits to notable landmarks such as the church, "Kulla and Ngujimit" – the confinement tower steeped in the history of the "Kanun."
Our journey follows the rhythmic flow of water channels, guiding us to the captivating waterfall – a true highlight of our expedition. This serene spot becomes the perfect backdrop for a rejuvenating picnic lunch, allowing us to marvel at the breathtaking Grunas Canyon, standing nearly 50 meters tall.
The second half of the hike follows a well-trodden bridle path downstream, staying close to the river's edge. Pass idyllic spots filled with the sounds of flowing water. Soon arrive in the peaceful hamlet of Nderlysa, your home for the night.

DAY 7: NDERLYSA – BLUE EYE - SHKODER – TIRANA
Our hike through the beautiful canyons leads to the enchanting "Blue Eye" karst spring. Surrounded by fluttering butterflies, its icy waters provide a refreshing respite for the bold adventurer willing to take a dip.
Return to Nderlysa for lunch, and after board the minibus transferring first to Shkodra and onward to Tirana, the vibrant capital of Albania. The evening welcomes us with a delightful dinner, and we settle in for a restful overnight stay.

DAY 8: Departure
Following a delightful breakfast at the hotel, our day commences with a brief city tour, focusing on the downtown area. This tour encompasses key attractions like Skanderbeg Square, featuring the 1789 Et'hem Bey Mosque, the iconic 1830 Sahat-Kulla (Clock Tower), and the National Museum of History.
Subsequently, we set forth on a journey to the airport for your return home.
