From Marrakech to Essaouira
In this trip we discover four important cities of the country : Marrakech which is an imperial city founded in 11C by the Almoravides dynasty. Taroudant situated between the High-Atlas and the Anti-Atlas in Souss valley and which is an attractive red-earth town where the Saadians stayed for 20 years building palaces and ramparts. Agadir, an important tourist city on the Atlantic ocean in the south, this city is new, built after the earthquake witch destroyed the ancient city in 1960. Essaouira, or Mogador as it’s called by the Portuguese in the 16C, is a relaxed city situated on the Atlantic cost, rebuilt in the 18C by the Alaouite sultan Mohamed ibn Abdallah. Attractive by its sandy beaches its fush port, crafts and its cooperatives of wood and silver-workers.
