Pius Gondeka is a heritage professional with extensive experience in the management, preservation, and promotion of Tanzania’s cultural and historical heritage. He serves as a Curator and Collection Caretaker at the National Museum of Tanzania, where he has contributed for over five years to safeguarding cultural collections and enhancing public engagement through exhibitions and heritage interpretation.

Mr. Gondeka is deeply committed to advancing heritage conservation and sustainable cultural tourism. He participated in the 2024 Seminar on the Protection and Inheritance of Intangible Cultural Heritage for English-Speaking African Countries in China, where he gained valuable insights into safeguarding living traditions and promoting cultural exchange.

In addition to his museum work, he serves as Event Manager at TAHEDO . His projects include a case study on Bagamoyo Historical Town and a radio documentary on Sheikh Amri Amani Karume, both aimed at enhancing public awareness of Tanzania’s heritage.

His research interests include fauna analysis and cultural technologies in prehistoric archaeology, particularly in South Africa. Mr. Gondeka aspires to strengthen the link between heritage conservation, research, and sustainable tourism in Tanzania.
