We will visit the impressive Abu Simbel Temple, one of Egypt’s most remarkable ancient sites. Located south of Aswan near the Sudanese border, the temple was built by Pharaoh Ramses II in the 13th century BC. It is famous for its massive seated statues of Ramses II at the entrance and its beautifully detailed wall carvings that depict his military victories.
If we wish to do more, there is plenty to enjoy during the day. We can go shopping at the local souk, ride a camel, or attend the enchanting sound and light show at the Philae Temple.
