• It’s a central meeting point and a great spot for orientation photos.

• Guides often share stories about Arusha’s colonial past and its role as a hub for safaris.

2. Arusha Declaration Museum

• Walk to the Arusha Declaration Museum, which documents Tanzania’s independence and socialist history.

• Exhibits include original documents, photographs, and artifacts from the 1967 Arusha Declaration.

• A must-see for understanding Tanzania’s political journey.

3. Local Market

• Continue to a local food market (such as Kilombero Market).

• Experience daily life: fresh produce, spices, and street food vendors.

• Great opportunity to taste Tanzanian snacks like roasted maize or mandazi (fried dough).

4. Maasai Market

• Next, head to the Maasai Market, famous for handicrafts and beadwork.

• Browse stalls selling jewelry, carvings, paintings, and Maasai shukas (traditional cloth).

• Bargaining is part of the experience — but do it politely.
