INSTALLATION

Step 1: Open Google Play

Tap the Google Play Store icon on your Android phone.

Once you're on the store page, you'll find:

We update the app regularly. If your phone doesn't automatically update apps, ensure you manually update to the latest version for optimal performance.

After installation, look for the colorful globe icon on your home screen.

Step 3: Set Your Language

The app supports the following languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Russian.

To change:

Tap ☰ (top-left)
Go to Settings → Language
Select your language and tap Save

Set the preferred Language for the App.

REGISTRATION

Whether you're a tourist or a tour guide, you’ll need to register to access all features.

Why register?

Tourists can send trip requests, message guides, leave reviews, chat with tour guides and receive their replies to their requests;
Guides can showcase tours, chat with tourists, receive notifications about new tourist requests and build their private professional brand.

Ensure you choose correctly — it unlocks the specific features designed for your needs. When registration is successful, you will immediately receive a notification to your email address with confirmation and the initial tips for a smooth start.

USAGE: Finding Your Tour Guide

Let’s dive into how to use the app and find the perfect local tour guide.

Step 1: Start a Search

Tap the search field and start typing a destination (at least 3 letters). Example: Egypt

Step 2: Select a Country or City

Start Your Search!

When you tap the country name, you will see the complete list of local cities where registered tour guides operate, and you have to choose the city to see the full tour guide list.

Select the city from a list of available cities where local tour guides are available.

Alternatively, you can type the city name and tap on it to receive the same list of tour guides. This way is one click less, not bad, right?

Tap a result — like Cairo — to open the city guide list.

Here are the first 11 of 50 (!!!) screens with local tour guides in Cairo registered on the Private Guide World platform. The complete list is available in both the App and the desktop version.

Step 3: Filter Tour Guides by Language

Too many results? Narrow them down:

Tap the language filter (top right).
Choose the language(s) you speak. Tour guides in Cairo are proficient in the languages listed on that screen.
Click the check mark icon in the upper-right corner of the screen to confirm your choice.

Now, the app will show only guides who speak your language.

You will see a small green icon next to some tour guide names; it indicates that this tour guide is online at the moment.

The green spot means a tour guide is online at the moment.

You can see the filter for online guides on the same screen where you chose the language. This filter will significantly reduce the list of tour guides in the search results, but don’t rely on it exclusively.

Step 4: Explore Tour Guide Profiles

Each profile includes:

Bio & photo 📷
Operating cities
Spoken languages
Official License or qualification info 📄
Traveler reviews ⭐
Tour descriptions and prices 💵

CONTACTING TOUR GUIDES

Option 1: Send a GENERIC REQUEST to All

No time to browse? No problem.

Go to the top of the guide list in your chosen city and tap the Send Generic Request button.

Fill out the form:

Choose a language(s)
Write a detailed request (200+ characters)

Your message will go to all matching guides in that city who speak your selected language(s).

Once sent, you will get:

A push notification in the app
An email with your request summary

All tour guides in a city who meet your criteria will immediately receive your request, and they will also be notified by email and push notification.

Every tour guide will receive both notifications about the New Tourist Request.

All responses will appear in the CHAT section of your profile. We will keep you informed with push notifications and emails about any activity related to your profile, providing you with up-to-the-minute information and tips.

Option 2: Send a PRIVATE MESSAGE

Prefer to talk directly?

Open any guide’s profile.
Tap the Send Message button just under your guide avatar photo (if you do not see this button, it means you have to log in first)
Chat directly via our built-in instant messenger

Sending a private message to a particular tour guide of your choice.

All your messages — both private and generic — are saved in your profile in the appropriate sections: Chats and Requests.

You can manage them at any time: keep, delete, or follow up. By tapping the tour guide avatar next to each received message, you can open their profile.

Sharing Contact Info (Optional)

If you’ve added your contact info to your profile, you can share it in chat:

Phone number (with auto country code)
Skype nickname
Multiple emails
webpage

To add/edit contacts:

Open your profile
Tap Edit
Enter your details
Tap Save

Updates to your profile

Enable Geolocation (Mobile Only)

You can send your location in Messenger — great for:

Meeting a guide in a crowd
Searching for guides nearby when you are already at the destination.

Search for Tour Guides using the "Nearby" button, and learn how to enable this option in your smartphone settings.

To enable:

Open the App Section in the general settings of your phone’s
Scroll down to the Apps starting with the “P” letter and select Private Guide World
Allow access to:
Notifications
- Location (for better results, choose SHARE PRECISE LOCATION)
- Photos & media (important for tour guides uploading images)
