Brussels Old Town

Language Dutch, English
Cost 210 EUR for tour/excursion
Capacity Any number of people
Duration 3 hours

Brussels is a peculiar city. It has a small peeing baby boy as mascotte, yet hosts (most of) the European Union institutions. You can't compare it to London, Paris or Amsterdam, not in size, type of architecture (we have a little of everything but are not one them) or atmosphere.

It is not always easy to navigate and figure out with its abrupt changes in neighborhoods, yet this city feels so cozy in so many spots.

Although it was not the leading actors of major historical events, it has always played a pivotal role or was the background to world and European history events (such as the Eighty Years War, the Battle of Waterloo, WWI and WWII, hosting (most of) the European Union institutions)

Welcome to Brussels, city of contrasts!

This 3-hour tour is an overview of and introduction to Brussels. Find your way around the city and see the main buildings or sites, which I will sprinkle with history.

- Grand Place (main square) and its gorgeous buildings

- Manneken Pis, the famous statue

- Bourse/Stock Exchange

- Royal Galleries, first arcades in the world

- The Cathedral, 13th century gothic style monument

- Ravenstein Galleries, Art Deco marvel

- Royal Park & Palace

- Mont des Arts to finish for a beautiful view of the city
